Sept. 09, 2007 ~ Bucky

Bucky continues to improve! All of us, including the vet, are very relieved. It wasn't looking good there for awhile, but yesterday our horsey boy's lungs sounded much better and his temperature was still normal. The vet wants to keep him on IV and oral meds for a few more days, then just give him two different oral medicines. Works for us. It IS kind of comforting knowing the vet will be here every single day... it's kind of like having a doctor in the family! But it will also be a relief when Bucks is well enough not to require such intensive treatment.

Bucky got out of his pen last night (his humans are to blame, alas) and into the pasture, where he munched forbidden grass, so now we are hoping he doesn't founder. He does that easily, just from eating summer grass. We're hoping it doesn't happen, though, because that combined with the respiratory problems would really be tough. He is on the mend, and we want him to stay that way. No new illnesses, please!
