Mar. 16, 2007 ~ One down

Made it through the first day. Only 364 left to go. Don't worry, I don't plan to make "the count" a regular part of each entry. It just seemed fitting to point out that we made it through the first day. Now we will get through today, and tomorrow, and the day after that, and we'll keep it up. Before we know it, the boy will be home, safe and sound.

Today was better. It helps to stay busy. Worrying about it doesn't do one bit of good, and brings problems of its own. So life continues, we go to work and do all the daily things that need doing, then come home, and do the at-home chores. I was sure hungry today, though. For what, I don't know. Whatever it was, I never found it. Maybe because food won't fill this empty spot.

Got off a couple of hours early today. Used the time to go grocery shopping, to the feed store, and to the vets. At the feed store I looked at the pretty red hens. May try to get them soon. Husband needs to mend a few holes in the chicken pen, though. Seems we have a raccoon who would like to have a chicken dinner. At the vet's I picked up the injections for the horses. They have now had their shots and are set for another year. They were all so good and well-behaved! Such troopers, putting up with those long needles. One shot especially seemed to hurt Bucky. He had a very pained look on his face, but he bravely endured it. What a boy!

Thanks to all who wrote after yesterday's entry. Your kind words of support mean more than I can say.
