Dec. 02, 2004 ~ Staying put

Son did not return my call because he is "in the field," training. We spoke with our sweet daughter-in-law last night. She is so precious! We are lucky to have her in our family. Anyway, Son is not being deployed to Iraq. There are rumors about him being deployed other places, but I am totally in denial and am just going to pretend I didn't hear anything at all. The Army changes their plans constantly, so no one really knows what's going to happen when. But Soldier Boy is staying put for now.

Our insurance company sent us a check, two checks, really, for the car repairs. I looked at that money and have to tell you that I briefly considered not having the repairs done. But we should. At least have the rear bumper replaced. Okay, we should have all the work done. But College Boy could sure use the money for tuition and living expenses and such. Still.

We got a copy of the accident report and I was so irritated! The person who hit College Boy had no insurance, and did not get ticketed for that! AND, she was allowed to drive away! Grrrrrr... How can that be right? It is against the law to drive without insurance, but the officer did not write her a citation for that, and he let her continue breaking the law. She was ticketed for failure to control speed, but that's all. So our insurance company is picking up the tab for our car repairs. Grumble, grumble, grumble. We think we will have the repairs done while Son is here between semesters, rather than having him try to find a repair shop where he lives. It seems easier.
