Nov. 17, 2006 ~ Hanging on
Star Cow is still hanging on, though we don't know how much longer she can last. Dr. Susan prepared injections for me to give Star today, and I came home at lunchtime to administer them. She did not struggle at all or fight the huge needles. Poor baby girl. Susan thinks she will probably never get up.
Last night we put Star's little heifer calf in a pen next to the dog. It's actually Sugar Horse's pen, so Sugar is bunking with the geldings for awhile. We won't need to bottle feed, as the little one is eating hay and cubes already, though tomorrow I will probably pick up something more suitable for her at the feed store.
Sad days...
