Yesterday was Sergeant Soldier Boy's birthday. And it was very, very happy. It seems that soon there is going to be a MRS. Soldier Boy. We are way beyond excited, and we haven't even met her yet! They haven't known each other long at all, but both feel that they are perfect for each other. And I trust their judgment. She is very worried about meeting us, according to Son. She surely doesn't need to be. If our boy loves her -- and he does -- then we love her, too. Simple as that. Although there are no immediate plans for grandbabies, we are already practicing on our grand-dog. Here's what we know so far... when you go to the store for any reason at all, bring home toys and cookies. Every single time. (In Meadow's case, dog biscuits. But she does have a big basket full of toys.) Every day, tell them that they are absolutely the BEST, most beautiful, brilliant, perfect, precious, adorable baby in the world. Spoil them rotten. Then send them home. We're still working on the "sending them home" part with Meadow, but I think we've got the rest of it figured out.

Life is good.

And we have a new baby bull calf, born today!
