Apr. 08, 2004 ~ And still we wait
We try hard not to listen to the news, but can't help hearing some things. And we know that this week has been the worst, in terms of casualties, since the war "ended." Our Soldier Boy was due home very soon, and I was finally breathing a little easier. But we just got word tonight that all redeployments have been canceled, effective today. No one is leaving Iraq. I felt like I'd just been kicked in the gut.
We are beyond disappointed.
I went outside and told Meadow that it was going to be a while longer till she got to see her boy, but he would be back to see her as soon as he could. She seemed to understand.
May no soldier go unloved.
May no soldier walk alone.
May no soldier be forgotten,
Until they all come home.
